7 years ago on Tuesday October 12th, 2009 a youth that my organization worked with Davonta Artis was killed in a shootout in NE Washington DC. The next day I made this beat and I felt like this scene from The Wire complimented the message I was trying to get across which is this senseless violence going on in our communities throughout the country has to stop. The sad part is over the next 7 years, the violence across the board has only gotten worst. And if you're feeling this jawn, go download my Through the Wire Seasons 1 & Seasons 2 beat tapes.
